What Makes a Great Art Teacher?

For the first week of school, I introduced the kindergarten and first grade students to the WB studio by reading, "David Goes to School" by David Shannon.  It's a personal favorite at home and the children enjoyed it.  We talked about how we could learn from David and what a good student artist in the studio would look like. in addition what a good Art Teacher would look like.  Did you know that a good art teacher would bring herself apples?  For the upper grades, we read the book "Willow" written by a pair of sisters, Denise Brennan-Nelson and Rosemarie Brennan. We discussed our imaginations and what a good Art Teacher would look like too!  It was a good introduction to our studio.
